Henrikh Mkhitaryan closes in on Alexis Sanchez swap deal – but Arsene Wenger wanted Manchester United’s Anthony Martial

Manchester United’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan is edging ever closer to joining Arsenal in a deal that will see Alexis Sanchez heading in the opposite direction. Armenia international Mkhitaryan joined United in the summer of 2016 for around £30million but has struggled to live up to his reputation as one of the most potent players in Germany for Borussia Dortmund. Mkhitaryan’s agent, Mino Raiola, warned United that he would only leave the club on his own terms, potentially putting the proposed swap deal with Sanchez in jeopardy.

As I am sure you are all aware, Wayne Rooney has left Manchester United to return to his boyhood club, Everton. Rooney left Everton 13 years ago as an exciting young prospect costing United just short of 30 million pounds.

Rooney had a highly successful career at Old Trafford and is going to go down as one of the clubs greats. In years to come his legendary status will increase, in my opinion. Many fans will disagree – as they feel he was not loyal to the club. Read more »

Ugo Ehiogu has tragically died after suffering a heart attack at Tottenham Hotspurs training ground, where he was coaching the Spurs under 23 team.
