Is De Gea On His Way Out?

by Raymond Forte

For two consecutive games now, David De Gea has been benched for Manchester United. In his place, Romero, having pulled off two solid performances.

Perhaps its man-management. Romero wouldn’t feel too good if he only plays in one tournament.  United have a large squad and has been pretty well rotated all season. That’s due to injuries as well, though. Romero has yet to put a foot wrong. Saying that, the guy ahead of him is one of the worlds greats.

However, Romero’s feelings are far less important than winning matches. I don’t mean to sound harsh but its the truth. De Gea is no doubt a world-class goalkeeper but this season United’s number 1 has been ever so slightly out of form compared to his usual self. De Gea has not been as sharp. A few goals has slipped past the line this season that wouldn’t have in previous seasons. Saying that, it’s not easy when there is a different back four every week. A goalkeeper is much better and the team is much better when there is a solid back four every week.

There is no doubt Real Madrid will come knocking again in the summer transfer window, the question is, will De Gea be tempted? Again!?
